My work is a meditation on the beauty and grace in which light reveals the forms of nature. Painting in a realistic style demands a close communion with nature as the nuance and detail of my subject matter dictates the colors on my palette and the strokes of my brush. I find this exploration of nature through painting to be a great vehicle for expressing my love of color. I work in acrylic or oil on canvas.

My experience drawing and painting has lead me to see the world more clearly and deeply and with an increasing sense of wonder. Painting both expresses this wonder and deepens it. I paint from nature as it rewards me with richness and harmony of color and grace and symmetry of form. I choose transparent and reflective objects for their play of light. There is nothing I would rather paint than the simple and fleeting beauty of a spring flower, a drop of water on a leaf, or the way light shines through glass. The natural world has given me an inexhaustible source of inspiration for which I'm grateful. It is my pleasure to share this inspiration with you through my paintings.
